New programme: the aim is to empower migrants who work in precarious conditions

The project “Revealing the Unseen Migrant Workers” implemented by Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity in collaboration with SolidarityNow was launched in October and it is going to come to an end in September 2025. It has benefited from the PICUM‘s grant programme on labour rights and labour migration, which is funded by the Robert Bosch Stiftung.

The project’s goal is to highlight the problems faced by employed migrants, documented or undocumented, in Greece, among of which are precarious work conditions, undeclared work, work exploitation, inequalities and discrimination. This reality is a symptom of the non-existence of targeted and efficient social and employment policies. However, there are no official data documenting the scale of the precarious work conditions. The project includes research and data collection activities, awareness campaign and labour rights seminars aiming to empower migrants who work in the country.

The activity of the seminars began in December 2023 and is expected to come to an end in May 2025. The seminars’ topics concern:

–           Distinguishing between declared work and undeclared/underdeclared work

–           The basic labour rights and obligations

–           Identifying safe and legally published job adverts

Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity is going to implement the next Labour Rights seminar on December 20th at their premises at 14.30. (Duration of the seminar: 3 hours)

Language of the seminar: English.

To register for the seminar, please contact first at [email protected] or at the whatsapp number 694 364 3025.

Next seminars will be announced soon.
