Finance Officer-Athens-GENERATION 2.0 FOR RIGHTS, EQUALITY & DIVERSITY

Starting: As soon as possible

Contract duration: 6-month full time contract with possibility of renewal

 

ABOUT GENERATION 2.0 RED

Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity is a non-profit organisation consisted of people with different origins who work together to promote equal participation in a diverse society, through the empowerment of communities.

We combine action and research, aiming to promote human rights, equality and diversity, fight racism, xenophobia and discrimination in general. As an organisation, we have over 10 years of experience in social action, sociological & legal research, project management and cultural events. We participate and cooperate with the largest human rights networks in Greece and Europe, advocating for the rights of socially vulnerable groups, regardless of their origin, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

This role is dedicated on financial monitoring and management of projects and activities implemented by the organisation (schedule, timelines, budget, etc.) on the topics of human rights advocacy, employability, non-formal education, etc.

Duties | Responsibilities

  • Participation in project design and proposals submission
  • Monitoring projects’ schedule, timelines and budgets
  • Keeping track of cash transactions and payables
  • Communication with staff and external collaborators in terms of projects’ financial management
  • Preparation of financial reports, presentations and relevant documents for stakeholders, donors and partners
  • Financial monitoring of projects’ progress
  • Close collaboration with the accounting office for expenses’ proper registration and payroll management
  • Financial records preparation (budget, financial statements, cash flow, etc.)
  • Participation in audits organised by stakeholders and donors
  • Assessment and amendment of financial procedures and policies

Mandatory competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Business Administration
  • Excellent command of English and Greek, verbally and in writing
  • Very good command of Microsoft Office (excellent command of Excel)
  • 1-3 years of work experience in project management in the humanitarian field

Desired competencies

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Statistics and relevant cognitive fields
  • Project management training
  • Work experience in CERV, AMIF, Erasmus+, ACF projects management
  • Understanding of migration and third country nationals’ inclusion in Greece matters
