Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity is a non-profit organisation consisted of people with different origins who work together to promote equal participation in a diverse society, through the empowerment of communities.

We combine action and research, aiming to promote human rights, equality and diversity, fight racism, xenophobia and discrimination in general. As an organisation, we have over 10 years of experience in social action, sociological & legal research, project management and cultural events. We participate and cooperate with the largest human rights networks in Greece and Europe, advocating for the rights of socially vulnerable groups, regardless of their origin, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

This role is dedicated on financial monitoring and management of projects and activities implemented by the organisation (schedule, timelines, budget, etc.) on the topics of human rights advocacy, employability, non-formal education, etc.

Duties | Responsibilities

Participation in project design and proposals submission
Monitoring projects’ schedule, timelines and budgets
Keeping track of cash transactions and payables
Communication with staff and external collaborators in terms of projects’ financial management
Preparation of financial reports, presentations and relevant documents for stakeholders, donors and partners
Financial monitoring of projects’ progress
Close collaboration with the accounting office for expenses’ proper registration and payroll management
Financial records preparation (budget, financial statements, cash flow, etc.)
Participation in audits organised by stakeholders and donors
Assessment and amendment of financial procedures and policies

Mandatory competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting/ Business Administration
Excellent command of English and Greek, verbally and in writing
Very good command of Microsoft Office (excellent command of Excel)
1-3 years of work experience in project management in the humanitarian field

Desired competencies

Master’s degree in Finance, Statistics and relevant cognitive fields
Project management training
Work experience in CERV, AMIF, Erasmus+, ACF projects management
Understanding of migration and third country nationals’ inclusion in Greece matters

About us

Hellenic Liver Patient Association “Prometheus”, founded in 2012, is the only non-profit organization in Greece dedicated to people with liver diseases. Our mission is to bridge the gap and inequities that arise between patients and the healthcare system in the field of public health. We work with elderly, vulnerable and marginalized people (homeless, refugees, asylum seekers, substance abusers, prisoners), facilitating their equal access to medical care and advocating for their rights. At the same time, we promote the prevention of liver diseases such as Hepatitis B and C, cirrhosis and liver cancer by educating the public and addressing major public health issues including obesity, unhealthy diet and lack of exercise.

The role

The Fundraising Coordinator has a central role in the shaping and implementation of the Fundraising Strategy of Prometheus. Beyond planning, the role is actively involved in identifying funding opportunities, building impactful relationships with donors, and developing compelling funding proposals for different funding streams.

We are looking for a person who is curious in exploring and implementing new fundraising approaches and is inspired to contribute in expanding the impact of our programs, by growing Prometheus’ donor portfolio and cultivating lasting relationships with funders.

The role is suited for a restless professional who is cause driven, loves fundraising and relationship building and has excellent communication, presentation and writing skills.

Key responsibilities

Fundraising Strategy:Collaborate with the leadership team to shape and implement the organization’s fundraising strategy. This includes setting clear goals, identifying key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensuring alignment with our mission and vision.
Donor Relationship Building:Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, sponsors, and funding partners, in particular with companies and foundations.
Prospect Research:Conduct thorough research to identify potential funding opportunities, including EU grants, corporate sponsorships, and philanthropic foundations.
Proposal Development:Prepare compelling funding proposals tailored to specific donors and EU calls. Collaborate with program managers and other team members to gather relevant information and build up funded project ideas.
Grant Writing:Write and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with guidelines and deadlines, in alignment with donor priorities.
Fundraising Events:Develop and execute fundraising events as planned, to engage donors and cultivate relationships. Leverage social media, email marketing, and other channels effectively.
Budget Oversight:Work closely with the finance team to monitor fundraising budgets and produce donor reports. Provide regular reports on fundraising performance.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant field (e.g., nonprofit management, business, communications)
Proven experience in fundraising (at least 2-3 years), grant writing, or donor relations
Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
Excellent knowledge of Greek and English (verbal and written)

Project Coordinator (Greek speaker) – Lesvos – EUROPE CARES

Europe Cares is a young and growing humanitarian organization supporting people on the move and standing up for human rights at the European external borders.

On Lesvos, we operate the community center Paréa Lesvos located within walking distance from the CCAC (or Mavrovouni refugee camp). The center offers a safe space for camp residents where they can spend time in a peaceful environment and access many recreational activities and sports, a Women Space, a cafeteria with free drinks and daily lunch, computer classes. Our center hosts another 9 partner organizations offering a wide range of services to our visitors including MHPSS, legal support, NFI distributions, informal education and integration support.

Position Summary

Our Project Coordinator is responsible for the supervision and development of the activities offered by EC in the center. You will be in charge of the planning, monitoring and evaluation of the project, the volunteers’ training and supervision, for supply management and purchasing. You will be acting as the Vice of the Field Coordinator, in their absence.

The full-time role is based in Lesvos, Greece. The (ideal) starting date is August 20th 2024.

Your daily tasks may involve:

Supervising the daily operations in the café (drink and lunch distribution), the Women Space, the Paréa Club, the security team and the computer classes;
Planning community events in the center;
Mentoring & supervising the officer(s) in the project team through weekly meetings and check-ins;
Supervising the maintenance of the center, in collaboration with the Field
Coordinator, and identifying needs/ways to further improve and develop the space;
Discussing possible changes to the program of activities and implementing them, in consultation with the Field Coordinator;
Preparing weekly volunteer schedules, conducting daily morning briefings & weekly program meetings;
Supervising volunteers’ performance during the daily operations, providing them guidance and feedback;
Recruiting team leads for each team (Café, Security, Women Space, Paréa Club, Computer class);
Ensuring the adequate number of supplies needed for the daily running of the activities;
Collaborating with suppliers, asking for quotes and managing incoming orders;
Organizing & managing the storage;
Supporting the Field Coordinator in expense accounting;
Organizing M&E tools & creating new ones, if necessary;
Regularly conducting needs assessments, evaluations & focus groups concerning the project;
Drafting brief project proposals in collaboration with the Field Coordinator, when relevant;
Substituting the Field Coordinator in their absence with minor support of internal partners;
Substituting the Field Coordinator in their absence, by representing Europe Cares towards external stakeholders;
Substituting the Field Coordinator in their absence in case of emergencies, following the policies and protocols in place;
Other relevant tasks as requested by the Field Coordinator.

What we are looking for:

At least 25 years old;
Eligible to reside and work in the EU (as a small NGO we are not able to offer assistance for visa applications);
Able to commit for (at least) 6 months;
Able to provide a Criminal Record Check;
(Under-)graduate degree in a relevant field of study;
2-year minimum experience from humanitarian organizations, especially in Greece;
1-year minimum experience with project management, especially in coordination roles including people management tasks;
