Workers who come to Greece legally should not become trapped in conditions of labour exploitation, without a genuine possibility to protect their rights or leave an abusive employment relationship without putting their legal residence status at risk.

Protecting the rights of migrant workers recruited to work in Greece is not only a matter of human rights. It is also a prerequisite for a fair labour market, for combating undeclared work and for an effective migration policy.
