Announcement on the Procedures of Residence Permits’ Applications

ATTENTION: This procedures concern only the Residence Permits issued by the Ministry of Migration Policy, not those issued by the Decentralized Services

We inform you that the submission of applications regarding the residence permits which are issued by the Ministry of Migration Policy will take place at Agiou Dionysiou 5, Piraeus, with the following procedure:

1. For the renewal of residence permits of all categories granted by the Ministry, applications are submitted without appointment fifteen (15) days prior to their expiration
2. Requests for the renewal of residence permits for humanitarian reasons granted by the competent Asylum Service shall also be submitted without appointment fifteen (15) days prior to their expiry
3. For the initial licensing of the residence permits for a) company executives, b) investors c) public interest and d) special purposes, the applications are submitted after an appointment on a date specified by the Secretariat Support Section (Ag. Dionysiou 5)
4. For the initial issue of a residence permit under the category “partner of Greek/EU citizen”, applications are submitted fifteen (15) days prior to the end of the Schengen entry visa or the 90-day free entry and stay period in the Greek Territory
5. For the initial issue of residence permits for humanitarian reasons upon referral by the Boards of Appeal, applications should be submitted no less than fifteen (15) days before the expiration of the ninety (90) days from the date of delivery of the relevant information document to those concerned
6. From 19/10/2017, for the initial residence permit for the categories of parents of minors, citizens who undergo psychological dependency treatment and for the children born in Greece, applications are submitted only on every Thursday
7. Submission of administrative appeals and requests for extension of a voluntary departure, applications for the re-issue of residence permits, notification of the change of passport/residence, requests for resignation, as well as applications for renewal of residence permits for humanitarian reasons submitted to the competent police authority before their expiration, are received daily without appointment
8. Blue Certificates (ble veveosi) are renewed without appointment five (5) days prior to their expiration

*  Requests for acceleration and requests for additional supporting documents are sent by post to the Department of Secretariat Support of the General Directorate for Immigration Policy – Evangelistrias 2, PC. 105 63, Athens
