Contract duration: 6-month full time contract with possibility of renewal

ABOUT GENERATION 2.0 RED

Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity is a non-profit organisation consisted of people with different origins who work together to promote equal participation in a diverse society, through the empowerment of communities.

We combine action and research, aiming to promote human rights, equality and diversity, fight racism, xenophobia and discrimination in general. As an organisation, we have over 10 years of experience in social action, sociological & legal research, project management and cultural events. We participate and cooperate with the largest human rights networks in Greece and Europe, advocating for the rights of socially vulnerable groups, regardless of their origin, nationality, religion, gender or sexual orientation.

The Role

We are currently seeking to include in our team a dynamic and passionate Programme Manager, to contribute in the strategic management of Generation 2.0 RED’s projects by providing guidance, representation and support in the development and implementation of projects and ensure that they fit in with the organisation’s objectives and vision.

This role is a mix of partnerships management, proposal writing and project management, and you would be an ideal fit if your greatest strengths are your organisational and communication skills (in written and verbally), if you love exploring new ideas and put them on paper, taking into account relevant data and seeking to bring change to the lives of people of migrant background in Greece.

 

Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Oversee the whole cycle of project management: identify new needs, develop proposals, conduct risk management, develop agreements, do partnerships management, monitor progress, through to closure – ensuring efficient collaboration with partners and staff engaged
  • Ensure that projects are appropriately integrated into the project cycle management and according to the strategic plan
  • Work closely with the Managing Director, the Programme Assistant and the Coordinators of the organisation
  • Schedule and facilitate regular project management meetings (kick-off, monthly, review etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with partners and staff to resolve any issues arising
  • Support the Coordinators in the development and implementation of projects
  • Contribute to formulating medium to long term strategic objectives and monitor regularly the progress.

 

Proposal Writing

  • Conduct desk research and project design to develop new proposals along with Coordinators or other relevant parts/potential partners
  • Undertake the proposals’ writing and coordinate the proposal development by other parts or partners, and contribute to the development of budget
  • Facilitate the selection of the appropriate funding mechanism and the development of appropriate M&E tools
  • Collaborate with Coordinators to proactively identify potential strategic partnerships with NGOs, government bodies, and the private sector
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to ensure coherence with the strategic plan and the organisational needs.

 

 

Partnerships Management

  • Facilitate partnership management processes to ensure well-organised and coordinated partnerships
  • Represent the organisation with local, regional and international partners and potential partners
  • Maintain existing relationships and identify new opportunities for development and partnerships
  • Carry on tasks related to partnerships including agreements and external reporting.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, ideally in the humanitarian sector
  • Educational background in Business Administration/ Social sciences/International Relations
  • A Project Management certification would be an asset
  • Solid understanding of project planning and management cycles
  • Previous experience in proposal writing and proposal submission is a must
  • Knowledge of grants processes and key donor compliance regulations is a must
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent command of English and Greek
