Position Objectives
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records of all financial transactions in order to meet all internal and external obligations on time.
Main Accountabilities
- Prepare all documents necessary for bank transactions (e.g. withdrawals, payments, transfers etc.).
- Prepare all tax declarations with the approval of the Director of Finance (monthly payroll tax statements, e-books, annual suppliers’ register, annual declarations for the employees monthly or annually etc.)
- Ensure that all accounts are settled and timely updated (e.g. receivable accounts, provisional accounts etc.)
- Prepare of re-invoicing in order to be approved by the Director of Finance.
- Conduct the financial part of payroll in close collaboration with the HR Department
- Prepare and submit the monthly national insurance statements (EFKA)
- Responsible for the management of the petty cash
- Support all necessary actions with legal and tax authorities for legacies
- Record closing entries necessary for the yearly balance sheet and facilitates the annual auditing
- Ensure proper and secure data management
Essential Criteria
- Bachelor degree in Finance/ Accounting Studies/ Business Administration or similar field
- Fluency in Greek and English both oral and written
- Working experience of 1 to 5 years as Accountant Assistant / Accountant
- Good command of IT tools (MS Office, software for accounting and payroll calculation)

Position Objectives
MSF uses public communications to support its medical humanitarian action, to bear witness on the crises it works in, to make its work known to the public, and to secure and sustain public support for its social mission, including through fundraising and recruitment efforts.The purpose of the Field Communications Manager (FCM) is to define, oversee and implement communications strategies in direct support of MSF’s medical humanitarian programmes and social mission.
Contextual Information For The Mission
Greece remains one of the main entry points to Europe, with over a million of people, mostly from war-torn countries, transiting through in 2015. MSF began providing medical humanitarian assistance to vulnerable ‘people-on-the-move’ in 2016 with a project in Athens and started a project on Samos Island in 2019. These projects provide primary health care, including sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and health promotion. Socio-legal services complement medical care for a holistic approach. MSF responds to the medical needs of vulnerable people regardless of their legal status, whether they reside in camps or urban areas.
Main Accountabilities
Strategies for operational communications and bearing witness:
- Defines and manages communications strategies in the country, under the supervision of Heads of Mission and in collaboration with Communications Advisors (CAs) or the Field Communications Coordinator (as applicable), staying responsive to operational needs, emergencies, and crisis situations, with effective prioritization.
- Alerts on unfolding situations in MSF project areas that may require public communication by MSF.
- Seeks opportunities to highlight underreported crises.
- Identifies significant issues across MSF operations relevant to communications and advises on messaging and public positioning, collaborating/coordinating with humanitarian affairs managers as needed (as applicable)
- Develops and/or updates a Country Communications Framework (CCF) which provides an overview of all operational communications priorities in the country in collaboration with Communications Advisors (CAs) or the Field Communications Coordinator (as applicable)
- Develops guidelines in country for crisis communications management.
- In emergencies, ensures timely delivery of guidance and content for journalists, the MSF communications network and for public release, as outlined in the MSF Emergency Communications Framework, in line with the Emergency Fundraising Policy as needed.
Develops, Drives and oversees dissemination and engagement strategies:
- Drives and oversees all media management in the country, including national and international media, traditional media outlets and their online versions, digital channels, influencers, and citizen media. May delegate / share responsibilities with other field communications staff in the country, such as managing media relations, pitching content, coordinating media events or visits to MSF projects, depending on the team’s structure.
- Collaborates with MSF digital teams (in country, in the region or other) for strategic dissemination and engagement on MSF social media channels.
- Identifies media and/or communication training needs for operational staff and organises the necessary training.
- Acts as a spokesperson for MSF when required.
Content production:
- Decides on communication tools based on agreed objectives, messages, and target audiences.
- Transforms operational or medical information into a communications angle relevant to the humanitarian/health situation.
- Guides production, collects material, and produces timely content (AV, flash quotes, press releases, tweets, or other relevant types of content,) in accordance with the strategy and budget and in response to rapidly evolving situations of relevance.
- Contributes to content production at headquarter level by supplying material (such as information, testimonies, pictures, videos, etc) to the Communications Advisor (CA) or other communications staff.
- Follows MSF communications ethical guidelines in all materials directly collected and produced, such as on consent, on DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion), and other relevant communications standards or guidelines.
- Maintains a record of communications production in the country to enhance institutional memory.
Digital and media monitoring:
- Uses digital and media monitoring to build, update and strengthen understanding of the media landscape, of audiences, of public narratives of relevance, and to track MSF coverage, and identify misinformation or reputational challenges.
- Ensures that problematic mentions of MSF are promptly reported to operations and/or communications as needed, advises how to address them, and supervises or leads the response.
Internal stakeholder engagement and reporting:
- In the absence of a Field Communications Coordinator, the FCM is the primary focal point for heads of mission in the country on public communications. The FCM engages with Heads of Mission, field coordinators, medical coordinators, and humanitarian affairs, and other relevant operational colleagues, to understand needs, advise on strategy and public messaging, and coordinate requests for communication support.
- Develops regular reporting mechanisms on planned activities and achieved results.
- In case of other field communications teams in the same country, field comms staff are responsible of informing one another of activities and coordinating the use of common tools, such as digital channels and managing press relations.
Global MSF communications network:
- Provides the MSF communications network with firsthand updates and guidance on the operational and humanitarian situations, advising on communications opportunities and messaging.
- Responds to the MSF communications network’s requests by providing content for international use, facilitating journalist visits, or contributing to specific campaigns or fundraising efforts, when possible.
Team management and budget:
- When applicable, the FCM manages, supports and supervises staff under their direct responsibility.
- When applicable; the FCM produces an annual communications budget for approval to the Head of Mission(s) and communications department at HQ.
Essential Criteria
- University degree in a relevant field, such as in Journalism, Communications, Development, Political Science or International Relations.
- Previous working experience of at least 4 years in communications, journalism or public relations,
- Experience in MSF or other International NGOs working in humanitarian contexts
- Team management
- Proficiency minimum C1 in English. Fluency in Greek.
- Other MSF working languages (Greek, French, Arabic) considered strong assets.

Position Objectives
Providing nursing care, treatment and follow-up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols applied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population.
Main Accountabilities
- Knowing, promoting, implementing, and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio-hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times.
- Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting during consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary.
- Identifying Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the medical team so they can receive the necessary treatment. Knowing and is aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit
- Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their feeding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort. For ER and OPD nurse, ensuring triage of patients in waiting areas, wards or during emergencies, detecting the priority acute/emergency cases, carrying out first aid care and referring them to the doctor when necessary
- Sending material to be sterilized and recuperates it from sterilization
- Carrying out admission, surveillance and follow-up of patients (i.e. assessment of the evolution of their state of health and the identification of any emergency situation or deterioration
- Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, registers, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situations and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed .
- Participating in the department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorisation, etc.)
- Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment used. Following the user manual and protocols and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning.
- Supervising and training nurse-aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners and other related staff under his/her supervision, ensuring teamwork and adherence to all appropriate protocols and procedures
- Simple wounds assessment and management
- Educating the patient in health practices according to MSF guidelines. In collaboration with HP, promote the dissemination and formulation of health messages and good practices
- Working collaboratively with the MD to determine if additional treatments or changes in care plan are required.
- In collaboration with MD, facilitate and organize the referral of patients to second level of care when needed
- Helping, and supporting in triage when it is needed.
- With the support of the Pharma Mission and MAM, assure proper pharmacy management including consumption monitoring and order preparation.
