From writing the CV to recruitment
There are too many young people who come from vulnerable social groups and in the most creative period for a person, they are out of education, they are not working and they have no training.
KANE participated in an EU-funded project entitled “YE! – Youth & Empowerment”. The objectives of the project included supporting these very young people in order to strengthen their efforts to integrate into the labor market. Professional Youth Workers were significantly supported through research and the creation of educational material. Already during the testing phase of these educational tools, one of KANE’s Youth Workers put them into practice and guided Maria, a young girl with no previous work experience.
Maria started the process with a lack of confidence and self-esteem. The Youth Worker, making use of all the media developed in the context of the project and the training material developed as supporting tools, helped Maria in all phases of her journey up to recruitment. It helped her create a proper resume, prepare properly for job interviews, but above all to build the necessary self-confidence through knowledge and empowerment. Finally, Maria found her place in the labor market.
This course was important not only for Maria but also for the Youth Worker who had undertaken her guidance. Being able to find work starting from scratch gave everyone involved the satisfaction of a successful and meaningful experience.
Once again, it is proven how important it is for all those who take on the role of mentoring young people to have the appropriate educational material and reliable tools in their hands, especially when they come from underprivileged backgrounds or belong to vulnerable social groups.
Through the Erasmus+ project SIDE, in the framework of which we cooperate with a total of six non-profit organizations from Greece, Italy and Spain, we will create an Educational Guide for the holistic approach to the employment integration of young people.
