Bid Manager – Proposal Writer

Are you passionate about creating positive social impact and securing funding for projects that make a difference? We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated “Bid Manager – Proposal Writer” to join our team. As a “Bid Manager – Proposal Writer”, you will play a crucial role in the development of successful proposals and bids for various EU funding programs, including E+, Horizon, AMIF, CERV, and private donor funds. Your focus will be on the social sector, with an emphasis on education, migration, human rights protection, employment and social economy, health promotion, green economy, culture, and health promotion.

Responsibilities:

Assume full responsibility for the entire proposal development process, from identifying funding opportunities to finalizing and submitting your assigned proposal(s).
Conduct in-depth research on funding programs, guidelines and eligibility criteria to ensure alignment of proposals with specific requirements.
Write, edit, and proofread proposals and documents, ensuring clarity, coherence, and compliance with program guidelines, and highlighting KMOP’s added value, impact, and innovative approaches.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information and input, including project managers, subject matter experts, and finance professionals.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with potential partners, programme authorities, and external stakeholders to gather support and strengthen collaborative efforts.
Maintain a strong understanding of the social sector, staying updated on relevant trends, policies, and best practices.
Support the post-submission process, including attending debriefings, concluding contractualization, and addressing any follow-up questions or requests for additional information.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a relevant field (such as international relations, social sciences, or a related discipline). A PhD will be considered a strong asset.
Proven experience and successful track record in developing proposals and securing grants from EU funding programs and private donor funds.
Near-native use of English and excellent writing skills, with the ability to craft persuasive, clear, and concise proposals, tailored to specific funding programs.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to ensure compliance with funding guidelines and eligibility criteria.
Strong knowledge of the social sector and familiarity with the fields of education, migration, human rights protection, employment and social economy, health promotion, green economy, culture, and health promotion.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, meet deadlines and gracefully manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with candidate partners, programme authorities, and stakeholders.

Role

You will coordinate one of KMOP’s areas of activities, leading the respective Unit’s management, implementation, and growth. Responsibilities:

Contribute to the Unit’s growth, development and organisation in terms of projects, staff, processes and knowledge.
Mentor and inspire the team.
Assign projects and/or tasks to team members, monitor workloads, follow up on timely implementation and report.
Ensure project implementation as per KMOP’s and Donors’ requirements.
Supervise and support project managers, project officers and researchers in developing deliverables or implementing activities and ensure quality.
Measure and analyse projects’ success, impact and efficient allocation of resources during and after implementation.
Represent KMOP, establish and maintain relationships with partners, beneficiaries and stakeholders.

Requirements:

Academic background in one of KMOP’s work / social impact areas. Interdisciplinarity is preferred.
Work experience in the context of EU/international collaborative project teams.
2+ years of experience leading a team or supervising the work of others.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Very strong oral and written communication skills in English and Greek.
Strong sense of ownership, ability to take initiative and creatively tackle problems.
Already well-familiar or eager to become an expert in EU funding programmes, project design/management, methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and adapt tasks to achieve projects’ goals, foreseeing and managing risks.
Directly implement activities such as project meetings, documentation, progress reports, research support, development, and review of project outputs.

FINANCIAL MANAGER

Do you want to be part of a leading NGO with over 45 years of recognized services in the social sector? KMOP is looking for a Financial Manager for social impact and innovation projects funded by international donors (e.g., Erasmus+, CERV, AMIF, Horizon Europe, Interreg Europe). You will be responsible for the efficient and effective financial monitoring of the EU-funded projects. You will perform budgeting, monitoring and reporting activities and will carry out important operational duties closely with the project management team, assuming responsibility for the overall projects’ success.

Responsibilities:

Prepare the budget for new funding proposals in cooperation with the Fundraising and Development team
Manage project finance activities and schedules to meet the financial reporting requirements and deadlines (e.g. quarterly, six-month and annual reports)
Monitor closely the Grant Contract Requirements and Donors’ Templates
Monitor project budgets closely and advise Project Managers/Coordinators on any issues of concern
Check expenditures against budgets, prepare monthly expenditure reports and ensure proper documentation and filing
Ensure timely and accurate recording of all project-related financial transactions in the Organization’s financial monitoring system
Support with the preparation of calls and service contracts regarding potential service awards to external collaborators
Review EU/international project partners’ eligibility for expenses in accordance with the respective program’s handbook
Analyze and provide explanations on discrepancies between forecasts, budget, and actual spent or/and unspent amounts
Cooperate with the accounting department on any issues related to monitor, tracking and processing of project-related payments
Facilitate smooth internal and external audits of donor contracts
Perform check and review in Grant, Consortium and Partnership agreements linked with programs and projects, when required

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or a related field
At least 3 years of working experience in finance management
Experience in an NGO and/or in financial management of European Programs (e.g., budgeting, reporting and regulations) is definitely a plus
Working knowledge of ERP, and CRM Software packages
Proficient in MS Office
Excellent communication skills in Greek and English
