ABOUT GENERATION 2.0
Generation 2.0 for Rights, Equality & Diversity (Generation 2.0 RED) is a non-profit organisation consisted of people who fight for the rights of socially vulnerable groups, regardless of their origin, ethnicity, religion, gender or sexual orientation.
We combine social action and research, aiming to promote human rights, equality and diversity, fight racism, xenophobia and discrimination. Our organisation has experience on social action, sociological and legal research, project management and cultural events. We participate and collaborate with the biggest human rights networks not only in Greece but also in Europe, always aiming to the equal participation of people in the social and political life of the country they live in.
DUTIES | RESPONSIBILITIES
The Farsi/Arabic Interpreter-Cultural Mediator is going to be responsible for several aspects and needs of the legal and career counselling services and as well as of the other services of Generation 2.0 RED:
- Interprets for beneficiaries and career counselling staff of Generation 2.0 RED from native language into Greek or English and vice versa during sessions
- Interprets into native language from Greek or English and vice versa during workshops or other group sessions
- Informs Generation 2.0 RED staff regarding important and sensitive cultural issues to take into consideration during a session or other actions.
- Participates in staff trainings and meetings as an interpreter/ cultural mediator.
- Translates informational material
- Ensures confidentiality by all means and contributes to a safe environment for beneficiaries.
- Considers special needs on access to information and referral from most vulnerable cases identified
- Participates in the organisation’s activities according to needs and schedule
The job duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Translations/Interpretation or a certificate of attendance at an interpretation/cultural mediation training
- Work experience in translation/ interpretation services is an asset
- Previous work or volunteering experience in the humanitarian field is considered an asset
- Farsi/Dari native speaker
- Very good command of English or Greek language (C1-C2 level) both orally and in writing
- Familiarity with the needs of refugees and migrants
- High professional ethics

ΚΑΘΗΚΟΝΤΑ | ΕΥΘΥΝΕΣ
Ο Πολιτιστικός Διαμεσολαβητής Φαρσί θα είναι υπεύθυνος για διάφορες πτυχές και ανάγκες του έργου των νομικών και επαγγελματικών συμβούλων καθώς και σε άλλες υπηρεσίες που παρέχει το Generation 2.0 RED:
- Διερμηνεία για ωφελούμενους και για το προσωπικό της εργασιακής συμβουλευτικής του Generation 2.0 RED από τα φαρσί/νταρί στα ελληνικά ή τα αγγλικά και αντιστρόφως κατά τις συνεδρίες
- Διερμηνεία στη μητρική γλώσσα από την ελληνική ή την αγγλική και αντίστροφα κατά τη διάρκεια εργαστηρίων ή άλλων ομαδικών συνεδριών
- Ενημέρωση του προσωπικού του Generation 2.0 σχετικά με σημαντικά και ευαίσθητα πολιτισμικά θέματα που πρέπει να ληφθούν υπόψη κατά τη διάρκεια μιας συνεδρίας ή άλλων δράσεων
- Συμμετοχή στις εκπαιδεύσεις και τις συναντήσεις του προσωπικού του οργανισμού ως διερμηνέας / πολιτιστικός διαμεσολαβητής.
- Μετάφραση υλικού που απαιτείται για τους σκοπούς της υπηρεσίας της εργασιακής συμβουλευτικής και γενικά για τους σκοπούς και τις ανάγκες του οργανισμού
- Διασφάλιση εμπιστευτικότητας με όλα τα πιθανά μέσα και συμβολή σε ένα ασφαλές περιβάλλον για τους ωφελούμενους του οργανισμού
- Εντοπισμός ειδικών αναγκών και παροχή πληροφοριών και παραπομπής των πιο ευάλωτων περιπτώσεων
- Συμμετοχή στις δραστηριότητες του οργανισμού ανάλογα με τις ανάγκες και το πρόγραμμα
Τα καθήκοντα και οι αρμοδιότητες που αναφέρθηκαν παραπάνω δεν είναι εξαντλητικά και ο κάτοχος της θέσης μπορεί να αιτηθεί να αναλάβει επιπλέον καθήκοντα σε εύλογη συνάφεια με τις δεξιότητες και την εμπειρία του.
ΑΠΑΙΤΗΣΕΙΣ
• Πτυχίο BSc. στη Μετάφραση / Διερμηνεία ή πιστοποιητικό συμμετοχής σε εκπαίδευση διερμηνείας / πολιτιστικής διαμεσολάβησης
• Η επαγγελματική εμπειρία στη μετάφραση ή διερμηνεία είναι απαραίτητη
• Η προηγούμενη εργασία ή εθελοντική εμπειρία στον ανθρωπιστικό τομέα είναι απαραίτητη
• Τα φαρσί /νταρί πρέπει να είναι η μητρική γλώσσα
• Πολύ καλή γνώση αγγλικής ή ελληνικής γλώσσας (επίπεδο C1-C2) τόσο προφορικά όσο και γραπτά
• Εξοικείωση με τις ανάγκες των προσφύγων και των μεταναστών

- A good knowledge and understanding of project monitoring tools and techniques, including log frame approach and indicator measurement and follow-up;

- Postgraduate degree preferred.
- Excellent professional track record with at least three years of experience in Donor Compliance and Proposal Development.
- Previous experience working with partners and securing partner awards.
- Previous experience with programs financed through EU grants is a great advantage.
- Excellent English language skills, including superior writing skills, is required.
