Interpreter- Farsi- Greek- Attica- HELLENIC RED CROSS

Responsibilities

  • Interprets between the beneficiary in his/her language into Greek and vice versa for the Psychosocial Support and Medical Departments.
  • Informs his/her team about important cultural issues to consider during a meeting, a medical consultation or an interview with local people.
  • Participates in staff trainings and meetings as an interpreter/ Translator.
  • Ensures confidentiality
  • If needed, Support the Red Cross Relief Teams during the process of distributions
  • Support the Red Cross Relief Team in facilitating community meetings and trainings to the Refugees/Migrants.
  • Liaise and build a rapport with other existing interpreters / cultural mediators from other organisations.
  • Stay informed about Red Cross services and activities in the site in order to provide clear information and referral.
  • Consider special needs on access to information and referral from most vulnerable cases identified at camp level
  • Ensure appropriate referrals are made when necessary to the available services such as medical referrals, camp management, asylum support and social services.
  • Provide translation support to Red Cross staff and volunteers when required.
  • The job duties and responsibilities as set out above are not exhaustive and the Post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.
